Book Launch for Aerth

Aerth had a wonderful launch last week at Stanfords Bookshop in Bristol. This is the only other branch of Stanfords outside London. The first Stanfords began in 1853 as a globe-and-map shop for gentlemen explorers, so it felt wonderfully appropriate that Aerth - which after all explores three planets as well as the human soul - should be launched in a Stanfords bookshop. These days both stores have branched out to other areas of literature, but they still are the place to go for travel guides, maps, charts, and globes. Weatherglass publisher Damian Lanigan was there and gave a fascinating introduction to the Weatherglass Novella Prize, and Peter Birchenough, the manager of Stanfords, led a wide-ranging and intelligent Q&A session for the audience, most of whom I knew well - I absolutely recommend being surrounded by friends and family as a first book launch experience. The shop was packed and it was a very happy evening.

Huge thanks to Damian Lanigan and Neil Griffiths at Weatherglass Books, and also to Peter Birchenough and all at Stanfords!
